Sawasdee is a vocabulary and listening trainer for Thai, Japanese, Korean, Chinese, Vietnamese, English and German. Not a game: question, answer, feedback, next, with a memory that knows which word you are about to forget.
The first 300 words of every language with every trainer are free, with no time limit and no account. The alphabet and tone trainers are completely free.
What the app does
- A daily session that fits your time: 3, 7 or 12 minutes. The app fills them with what is due, then with new words.
- FSRS spaced repetition: you practise exactly the words you would otherwise forget.
- Audio for every word: recordings and labelled computer voices, slow playback, record yourself and compare.
- Tone trainer for Thai, Chinese and Vietnamese.
- Script trainer for Thai, kana and kanji, Hangul and Hanzi: stroke order, start point, direction, scored tracing.
- Word lists built for each language: from that language's own sources, not a translated English list. Particles, classifiers and politeness levels included, CEFR levels A1 to C1.
- Honest status: “these words are solid, these are shaky” instead of colourful charts.
Who Sawasdee is for
For anyone who wants to build vocabulary and listening skills on purpose: alongside a course, before a trip, or while living in the country. If your main goal is free conversation, you will also want a teacher or a language partner. A vocabulary app cannot replace that.

Frequently asked questions
Is Sawasdee free?
The first 300 words of every language are free with every trainer, with no time limit and no account. The alphabet and tone trainers are completely free. Premium unlocks all words and levels A1 to C1 in all seven languages, as a subscription or a one-time purchase. Prices are shown in the store.
Does the app work offline?
Yes. Your progress stays on your device. Audio above level A1 is downloaded once as a pack; after that everything works without internet.
Do I need an account?
No. Signing in with an email code or Google is only needed if you want to sync progress between devices.
Are there ads or AI?
No ads, no tracking. There is no cloud AI in the learning path; feedback comes from checked data inside the app.
Are the voices real?
Some are recordings, some are computer voices. Computer voices are labelled in the app, and the sources are listed there.
I found a mistake. What can I do?
Every word has a report button in the app. You will see when the fix has been adopted.
